"Sew Easy Storage Case and Supplies"

You all know,  Im a thrifty shopper.  But Im more about the customer service.  To me Customer service comes first then great prices make it even more better.

Well, having talked about this "Sew Easy" for the past few days.  And running my "Sewing Challenge" over that VDBC and I have posted my tutorial over at "The Flying Unicorn" where we have been discussing the "Sew Easy".

I have been looking to get a couple of the new large heads and the Case to keep it all.  The brown box it came in just isnt that great.  So I have been looking for the case. No one has it, and the one person that did. Lord, the shipping was unreal.

So the girls on the VDBC have been raving about a place they bought from on ebay and how her service and shipping is outstanding.  So I checked, and she was out of cases.  But I was informed today,  She had 5 in stock for $15.99.  So I ran over and bought one along with several other We R Sew Easy things.  And she even gave me a discount on shipping.  Which was totally awesome.  I have to share her link with you.  If your looking for the case and more heads.  Oh, and the metallic floss is awesome.   Run over and purchase from 6scrappysisters on ebay.   She only has 4 cases left so you better hurry over.

I will work on a tutorial for the vine head when it arrives.  So stay tuned.

"Sew Easy" Tutorial Scallop Head

Have you all see this awesome sewing tool out by We R Memory Keepers.  One I'm a big fan of  "We R"  I have several things by them.  So knew this one would be awesome as well.

I love to hand sew on my cards, its relaxing to me.  So I knew I just had to give these a try.  So I bought the Sew Easy (Video on that link) and just used it for the first time today.  And wait till you see this tutorial I did.  My layout turned out great.

This is a close up of the section I used my new "Sew Easy" on the layout I posted earlier. And I have to tell you, it was "So Easy" LOL.   That, I only have 4 of the heads and plan to get the rest. I love the new larger heads and the storage kit is awesome.  So on to the tutorial.

I was using "The Little Monsters" line by The Scrap Cake.  I love this paper.  Its double sided and really thick.  So with that in mind.  And wanting to sew two layers.  I used my ATG to just put adhesive in a square about 3 inches in from all sides.  This is so that the paper does not move. And you will not sew through the adhesive.  So it makes it a lot easier. As your needle wont get gummed up.  I ran the head I was using on a scrap piece of paper.  To get a feel for how hard to push and also for placement on my projects.
Next, I though about how I wanted this scalloped head to look and where to start on my paper.  So I got a black sharpie and position the scallop where I wanted it to begin, which was the beginning of the scallop.  You can see, I have the point in the center which is even with the holes on the side, but its hard to see, so I used the sharpie to make a little line on the green top sides to see it better.
I used my sample run white cardstock to see where the placement would work for this size,  My top green paper is 10 x 10 so the scallops worked perfect from side to side, so the key to this one is whole inches. I then measured the width of the head,  The small ones are about 1/2 wide,  So I placed my paper on the "Sew Easy" Mat.  And you can see on the sides.  My Green paper is at the 1 inch line and my ruler is at the 1 1/2 line.   So I know that my green space is 1/2 inch.  And my "Sew Easy" will lay the pattern down about 1/4 inch from the edge.  You will see this in then next picture so you understand what I'm telling better.   So then Using my Clear thick ruler as a placement guide for a straight line.  I line up my mark I made with the edge, and stand it up and push down hard so the head buts up next to the ruler and just run it along the paper. Make sure to hold down your ruler really good.
Now, because I'm using thick double sided paper and its layered.  I knew this would not go through both.  So I used my paper piercer and a foam mat, to repunch the holes so they go all the way though and the needle goes though the holes faster.
Here you can see, I'm doing a easy stitch so it shows the sewing really good.  And all you do is start on the bottom of the corner, and go up and down all the way around.  And you can now see how the placement is perfect with the sewn part and the little bit of room left on the edge, so you can wet it and distress the edge if you like.
Here you can see how the corners meet perfect with a little calculation.  All 4 corners meet perfect. I love how it turned out.

When I use other heads and get the placement down. I will post tutorials on those as well.  I'm really going to work on getting the other heads and case as I think I'm going to be using this a lot. LOL!

Let me know if you like my tutorial.  And I apologize for the quality of these pictures. My camera is still acting up and I'm looking to get a new one in a few weeks.

Check the post be low for full layout page and the free Title file I posted.

Thanks for stopping by!

CT: Flying Unicorn "Our Little Munchkin" & Free File

This is my first Creation for my new position on "The Flying Unicorn" Creative Team.

This paper line is from "The Scrap Cake"  and this is the "Little Monsters" Line.  In this layout, I used 5 different paper from the line.  One is brown with green hearts, then you have green paper with tan hearts, then you have brown paper with green and tan circles, and one is green and tan tiny squares.  And the last one was green with tan circles with little monster faces.
This little guy comes printed on the brown with green hearts, it also has a printed frame.  I used two of this page, and cut out the Orange monster and Frame. So that I could emboss them for the "Texture Challenge" going on at the Flying Unicorn Forum.  I used Cuttle bug embossing folder "Argyle" on the monster along with some Stickles on the eyes and mouth and layered him on pop dots.  You can see a part of the frame I had cut out and cut the center out so it over laid the picture (Sorry my grandsons face is blurred out for Privacy)  I used the Cuttle but Embossing folder "Mesh" on the frame. And layered with pop dots as well.
I cut the other larger monster off another paper.  And embossed this one with Cuttle bug Embossing folder "Floral Fantasy"  And used Stickles for the eyes and mouth.  The sign says "Grandma Loves You"  and that is a part of the pattern paper in the line.  I used some orange with green thread center and hot glue on the edges and used a strip of brown cardstock  to make it look like a sign that the pink monster (Grandma LOL!) is holding. And layered on pop dots. The red heart is on the same paper as the pink monster.
I used one of the pattern papers in the line to cut all the little monster faces out and layered them on some cardstock ovals and added Gold Brads to the sides.   And you can see the hand stitching I did on the side was done with the "We R Memory Keepers" "Sew Easy"  using the green scallop head.

And the title "Our Little Munchkin" is a title I made for this layout.  And I'm offering this file to you for free.  You can download this file for free Here   password is :  iagreetotou

This file zip includes file types (AIv8 / GSD 2.4 / KNK /  MTC 3.2.1 / SVG, & WPCv14)    Please remember, my files are for personal use only.  If you would like to sell products made from my files please contact. At rsmobley85 at gmail dot com.

Hope you enjoyed this layout.  I will have a tutorial posted with for you tomorrow or actually later to day maybe. LOL!  On how to use the "Sew Easy"  and let me tell you,  with a little direction its "So Easy" to use, LOL

Etsy Store "Embellished Crafts"

If your looking for your free file for this weekend.  Scroll down to next post. Thank you!

I just opened a Etsy store yesterday for my all my finished creations.  I'm calling my new store "Embellished Crafts"
This is the sign I made yesterday to hang in my Scrap room.  I need to add ribbon to hang it yet. But I used Fancy pants paper line and one of my favorite punches by Fiskars A Tisket A Tasket for the border.  The pink ribbon is from Dollar tree. I love to get ribbon there. They some times have some of the nicest ribbon.

I made this sign using some of my creations that will be in my store.  Like my paper Flowers.  I designed and made these flowers from my cutter file. RM00143

I layered these and used MS chucky thick clear glitter and topped that with stickles for added shine.  And added pears to the centers.  I embossed the leaves and inked the edges.  The white flowers are also inked with aqua to match the pattern paper.

This is a decorative pin I made as well.  I will have some of these in my store on Etsy soon. I used glass beads and metal trims.  I love the little finishing look these add to your project.

I just started loading some of my finished cards, I have so many more to load. But I'm in the process of looking for a new camera and will get those pictures uploaded as soon as I can.

And don't forget to come back on Monday.  I will have some exciting news to share with you all.

Thanks for stopping by!

KNK Plugin for MTC

If you have "ANY" KNK cutter machine.   There is a new plug in to be able to cut right from MTC to your KNK.

The plugin is free update if you own MTC already.  If you dont own it,  You can purchase it from my link on the left of my blog.

Then click this link and save to your computer.  Make sure MTC is closed and run the plug in.  When you open MTC and when ready to cut a image.  Go to "Cut with" in the top bar.  And select "Klic-N-Kut Series" and when the window pops up.  Select your machine.  Old Yellow KNK machines will select "Element / XL / Grand"

You can also set the speed and pressure from the on screen display. (Most recent KNK Groove E machine not the original Groove)   But if you need to pause the machine to change the pressure and speed,  You need to push the pause button on the machine and adjust your speed and pressure from there.

From what I hear.  The print and cut for the KNK plugin does a "Dead On" Print and cut.  I'm going to have to give this a try as I have never tried it because of the work involved,  but this sounds easy.  So I'm going to have to try it.

And the awesome news is. Sandy has said she is going to do some videos for MTC to the KNK.  Woo Hoo!  We all know Sandy's videos Rock!

I can't wait to see what all this allows us to do.  I think we need a webinar just for the KNK / MTC plugin,  What do you think. LOL!.

Again the link to the KNK Plug in is here.
Thanks for stopping by!
